I think you should consider enrolling in Leadership Greater Hartford's Third Age Initiative program. [Name] will learn so much about yourself, Hartford, and the people and organizations making great things happen.  Even better, you will   discover how to apply your life skills, interests, and time to projects that are meaningful to you.

The Third Age Initiative brings together diverse people in or nearing retirement from across the region with a variety of educational, work, and ethnic backgrounds.  So far, nearly 200 people from more than 30 communities in the Greater Hartford region have brought their diverse experiences and interests to the program. 

[ In addition, I worked and became friends with people I never would have had the opportunity to meet outside of this program.  Together with the other members of my team, I made a lasting impact on the community with our project—in a way that I never could have as a single volunteer.  And, as you know, I continue to stay involved in the community in new and exciting ways. ]

Here are a few quick facts:

• Next program begins on March 14, 2007 and runs through March 2008.
• There is a 2-day retreat on April 25-26 in West Cornwall, where April 25-26, the group forms small teams, based on their interests and begins developing their project.
• The class meets together during 5 weekly workshops in March and April 2007, and then bi-monthly workshops after the retreat.
• You'll see a different side of Hartford, on class tour days, where you meet key leaders in business, politics, the arts, and community.
• Tuition is $225, payable in 3 installments.  Scholarships are available.
