During the past school year, Leadership Greater Hartford trained and supported 250 parents, teachers, principals, and others in the art of working together to improve education for Hartford’s students.

In February 2010, Leadership Greater Hartford launched a new eight-event serices called Community Connections, highlighting the people and places that make our community special.

February 2, 2010 - Remembering The Old Neighborhood: Stories from Hartford’s North End with Joan Walden and a panel (Susan Viner, Estelle Kafer, Ed Johnson, Patricia E. Lawson-Kelly, Ellen S. Boynton) moderated by Ted Carroll ~ President LGH

March 9, 2010 - Elizabeth Colt: A Life of Art, Philanthropy and Civic Leadership with speakers - Bill Hosley and Jack Hale

April 20 and 22 2010 - Hartford Symphony Orchestra A Peek at the Process: Rachmaninoff Symphony No. 2 plus Prokofiev’s Romeo & Juliet with Edward Cumming, conductor and Gilad Karni, viola.  On April 20th we attended a Reception and Rehearsal with Edward Cumming.  April 22nd was a Symphony performance at the The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts Belding Theatre

June 15, 2010 - The Hollander: A Common Ground Project with speaker: Rosanne Haggerty, President & Founder of Common Ground and a tour of The Hollander

July 15, 2010 - Summer Social: Rollin’ Down the River with Food, Friends, Music aboard Lady Katharine Cruises, Charter Oak Landing, Hartford. Also thanks to our sponsor OptumHealth.
