Benjamin Cruse (former LGH staff) and his wife Diana Cruse welcomed their baby boy (Lukas Daniel Cruse),  into the world early Sunday morning, September 5.



Heidi McCann (Quest 2003) is the new Director of Centennial Reunion Giving at The Ethel Walker School, a college preparatory school for girls grades 6 through 12 in Simsbury, Connecticut.



 

Sara Barczak (Quest 2009) and her husband Ralf welcomed their son Matthew Rafal Barczak into the world on August 22, 2010.



 

Heidi Sandling (Quest 1998) recently became Director, Organizational Development for Hubbell, Inc. a lighting and power company in Shelton, CT

 



 

 

Nancy Taylor (Quest 2010) has assumed the post of assistant director of Alumni Relations and Corporate Recruitment at Charter Oak State College, Connecticut’s only public online college.



 

 

 

Frank Rudewicz (Quest 1992) has been hired to lead Marcum LLP to lead their Advisory Services Division in New England.





 

Jennifer Sager (Quest 2009) was recently elected board president of Knox Parks Foundation. The Knox Parks Foundation was started by Betty Knox in 1966 when she established a trust fund to help improve the city. Following her death, during its first decade, Knox developed two areas of focus – funding community development and operating "greening" programs. In 1976, the organization split, with the Knox Foundation continuing the funding function and the Knox Parks Foundation focusing on horticulture.



 

Lyne Desormeaux (Quest 2004 & Leadership Greater Hartford Ambassador) is SVP Consulting Services and Business Development for Corporate Counseling Associates.



 

 

 

Deb Borrero (Quest 2002 & Leadership Greater Hartford Board) will be leaving the Governor’s Office to become the new head of the School Choice Program at CREC.



Rachel Houseman (Quest 2008) is the new director of development for the Kazoo School in Kalmazoo, MI.





State Representative Kelvin Roldan (American Leadership Forum Class XIX) won the Democratic primary for the 4th House District, which was validated by a voting recount.


 

 

 

Oz Griebel (American Leadership Forum Class XI) ran a strong but unsuccessful primary campaign as the gubernatorial candidate for the Republican Party. Oz has since returned to his position as CEO of the MetroHartford Alliance.









Ross Garber (Quest 2001) was a distinguished but unsuccessful candidate as the Attorney General for the Republican primary.








Mellessa Milling (Quest 2010), her husband Lincoln, and son Lincoln Jr. welcomed baby Mackenzie to the world on July 16.



 

 

 

Cheryl Barnard (Executive Orientation 2010), Vice President and Dean of Student Affairs at Saint Joseph College, has been named to the Catholic Charities Board of Trustees.



Alica Flynn (Quest 2005), Vice President and Chief Development Officer at Foodshare, has been awarded 40 Under Forty by the Hartford Business Journal.



 

 

 

Michelle Palma (Quest 2008), Vice President of Development at the Boys and Girs Club of Hartford, has been awarded 40 Under Forty by the Hartford Business Journal.



Lisa Petachi(Quest 2009), most recently a Manager with Wheeler Clinic, has been awarded 40 Under Forty by the Hartford Business Journal.



Brian Haendiges (LGH Board Member and American Leadership Forum XXII) has been named Head of Strategic Market Development for MassMutual.

 



 

Mary Jo Keating (Encore!Hartford 2010) has been hired by Walker Systems to serve as the Manager of Planning and Marketing for reSET, the newly organized nonprofit dedicated to promoting social enterprise



 

 

 

 

Scott Orsey (Quest 2009) has been hired by The Hartford as Director of Quality Management and Operations in the Group Benefits Division.

Jean Lyman Cook Brown (Neighborhood Class 1) passed away August on 17.



Betty Domer (Quest 1991 and Third Age Initiative Class 8) lost her husband Fred to cancer in July 2010.

Saturday, September 11,2010 Rain or shine. After a one year absence in 2009 popular demand has brought back the Discover Hartford Bicycling & Walking Tour in 2010!

Bike Walk Connecticut (formerly Central Connecticut Bicycle Alliance) and the City of Hartford will present 10 and 25 mile mile rides through Hartford's beautiful parks, vibrant and diverse neighborhoods and cityscape. This year we have added a new 15 mile extension to Batterson Park to include a 40 mile bike ride! The Hartford Preservation Alliance will host four different 1.5 mile walking tours of some of Hartford's historic sites.



Celebrate the latest ArtWalk exhibit at the Hartford Public Library with the opening reception of “Hartford Treasures: Arts and Artifacts on the ArtWalk"

Friday, June 4, 2010 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm 500 Main Street, Third floor.

Exhibit runs from June 4 - September 30
