High Hopes Achievement Program
Leadership Greater Hartford is pleased to announce the launch of a
new after- school program to serve at least 100 Hartford Public High
students enrolled in the Law, Government and Community Leadership
Academy.
The High Hopes Achievement Program,
which will officially begin in January of 2008, is a collaborative
effort between Hartford Public High School and Leadership Greater
Hartford. Students participating in the program will meet weekdays
after school from 2:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. This program has initially
been funded by the State Department of Education’s 21st
Century Learning Grant Program.

Volunteers Needed
The High Hopes Achievement Program is an after school program
managed and run by Leadership Greater Hartford in collaboration with
the Government, Law, and Community Leadership Academy at Hartford
Public High School. In its initial year, High Hopes seeks to be an
engine for academic and personal growth. High Hopes will engage
students in academic tutoring for Math, Reading, and Writing as well
as Cultural and Leadership Activities aimed at fostering their
personal development.

High Hopes Resource Room
The High Hopes Achievement Program is creating a resource room
filled with books, films, posters, pictures, maps, globes, college
paraphernalia, and other useful material to motivate our kids and
change Hartford’s future!!!
We need your help! HHAP will be accepting any donations that you
think would contribute to our aim as a radically dynamic after
school achievement program.
We're looking for donations of
the the following items:

Fictional or Non-Fictional books that touch on leadership and
personal growth
l
Posters
with Inspirational Messages or Inspirational People
l
Films/Movies that contain a positive message
l
CD’s
with cultural and positive music
l
Globes,
Maps, or Cultural Objects
l
Anything you think of!!!!
