“One of the best aspects of ALF is the opportunity to meet leaders from all walks of life, each of whom has a unique perspective and set of life experiences.  I feel as if I have made a lifelong connection to people and to an organization that will make a difference in Hartford and the region.”

-
Diane Ullman, Superintendent of Simsbury Public Schools

NOTICE:
As a consequence of current economic conditions, LGH has postponed the scheduled start of the next ALF class. Despite strong efforts from both the staff and the Board, LGH felt they did not attract the right number and mix of candidates to run an ALF class at this time. The LGH Board will meet and in the ensuing months, will be reassessing the program and refocusing efforts on how best to serve experienced leaders.

While not immune to the downturn in the national economy, LGH will not be thwarted by it. Indeed, enrollment to other program remains strong and the funding community has remained highly supportive.  LGH will provide periodic updates how it will re-organize to address the strategic priorities adopted earlier this year. As always, your support is deeply appreciated.

The Hartford Chapter of the American Leadership Forum, run by LGH connects and strengthens leaders to serve the common good. Convening a select class of 20-25 diverse individuals who represent the public, non-profit and business sectors, this year-long program refines the leadership skills of each individual and builds lasting relationships among class members.

American Leadership Forum Training:

Begins with a five-day Outward Bound wilderness experience where participants challenge themselves individually and learn about risk taking, the power of vision, group interaction, and mutual support.

This life-changing experience is followed by a series of monthly workshops facilitated by recognized trainers which combine conceptual and theoretical learning with structured experiences. By the end of the year, class members will use their newly-honed skills, increased knowledge of community issues, and powerful new relationships to initiate an important civic initiative. And while the formal training ends in May, ALF Senior Fellows will have the means to continue their leadership journey through the ongoing leadership skills seminars, opportunities to meet key players and shape policy that Leadership Greater Hartford offers all its program graduates.

Are You…

An established leader with a significant sphere of influence? Someone who wants to initiate change, and needs a broader network to do so? Ready for advanced leadership training with real-world applications?

Can You…

Imagine yourself with 20 other leaders, from various sectors of the Greater Hartford community, putting leadership into action?
