“My membership with Leadership Greater Hartford gives me access to the movers and shakers in Greater Hartford, people I wouldn’t normally be able to get up close and personal with. I really appreciate being part of that world. LGH gives me the clout I need to get the inside track on what’s happening in the community. Members of LGH are the people who count and care, and the leaders in Hartford recognize that.”

- Betty Domer, Graduate of Quest 1991 and member of the LGH Leadership Circle

LGH Leadership Training Sends Professionals on THE
 "Quest" of a Lifetime

Leadership Greater Hartford (LGH) is now accepting applications for those interested in enrolling in Quest, a leadership training program that brings together middle and senior level managers from the corporate sector, government, non-profits, academia and small business. Forty-five professionals from Greater Hartford will be selected to participate in the program which provides rising leaders an opportunity to build the skills, knowledge and contacts they need to be effective in their jobs and in serving their communities. Training begins in January 2008.

Are You...
a rising leader in an area business, nonprofit, or local government? Ready to think creatively, act collaboratively and to take purposeful risks in response to challenges posed by community projects? Looking for a leadership experience that captures your spirit of adventure and purpose?

Can You...
imagine joining 50 other leaders from every walk of life, to learn and to inspire positive change in our community?

Requirements:
Applicants need to be committed to their personal and professional development, working with other community-minded leaders to inspire positive change within the community. Quest participants will be expected to invest up to 10 to 12 hours each month (one monthly training session plus a taskforce meeting),

Those selected to be in the program will begin their “quest” with an overnight retreat in January. The class then meets for one skill-building workshop per month, including hands-on learning activities, tours of Hartford, and other educational and social events. At the same time, the class breaks into teams to work on “real-world” projects that address important issues within the Greater Hartford community. Participants will learn to think creatively, act collaboratively and take purposeful risks in response to challenges posed by their community projects.

About the Quest Training Program:
Quest, the signature program of LGH, was launched in 1977. From the start 30 years ago, graduates have repeatedly described a sense of adventure and purpose they felt by participating in this 11-month leadership training program. Application forms for Quest program can be downloaded from this page.
