About the Quest Training Program:

Quest, the signature program of LGH, was launched in 1977. From the start 30 years ago, graduates have repeatedly described a sense of adventure and purpose they felt by participating in this 11-month leadership training program. Application forms for the Quest program can be downloaded from this page.

Requirements:

Applicants need to be committed to their personal and professional development, working with other community-minded leaders to inspire positive change within the community. Quest participants will be expected to invest up to 10 to 12 hours each month (one monthly training session plus a taskforce meeting.)

Those selected to be in the program will begin their “quest” with an overnight retreat in January. The class then meets for one skill-building workshop per month, including hands-on learning activities, tours of Hartford, and other educational and social events. At the same time, the class breaks into teams to work on “real-world” projects that address important issues within the Greater Hartford community. Participants will learn to think creatively, act collaboratively and take purposeful risks in response to challenges posed by their community projects.

"My LGH experience helped me be a better leader by exposing me to community issues, concerns, approaches and colleagues. It enhanced my experience dealing with diverse groups of thinkers and personalities."

- Beth Gerundo, AVP and Portfolio Manager, Quality Assurance Services, Hartford Technology Services Company
