The Executive Orientation Program offers a convenient, condensed and affordable introduction to the people, places and possibilities of Greater Hartford.  It is designed for senior level executives who are relatively new to the area, and others recently promoted to top jobs requiring more community connection.

Through five weekly sessions featuring tours, speakers and intimate dinner discussions, executives establish themselves in the community by learning about Greater Hartford’s history, economy, politics, and cultural offerings. A Saturday morning, a weekday morning and three successive weekday evenings fit the program neatly into an executive's busy schedule.

2011 Executive Orientation Dates/Times : To Be Announced

Build your network, get the lay of the land and understand the issues facing the Greater Hartford region.  Learn who the key players are and meet several of them. Understand current trends and challenges in the region’s economy, education, jobs, housing, and the arts. You will make valuable contacts in your small group and be welcomed as part of LGH’s network of over 2,500 business and community leaders.

The program is designed to make participants feel at home quickly and establish collaborative relationships with other senior leaders.  Here is what some recent participants had to say about the program:

“The Executive Orientation Program is an enlightened opportunity to experience Hartford, its challenges, successes and future!  One would simply not be able to understand the depth of the community without this program.”

Bob Coates - Director of Division Operations / Central Division, Connecticut Light and Power

“The Executive Orientation Program far exceeded all expectations!  The group was full of impressive and engaging individuals.  The sites and speakers were carefully and wonderfully coordinated.  The LGH Leadership built a passion for Hartford that leaves a lasting impression.”

Wendy Carberg - Operations Director, Service Operations / Employer Services, CIGNA Healthcare

“This was a very informative and engaging program that gave a wonderful view of the city’s personalities – both its neighborhoods and its civic leaders.  It was a great opportunity as well to meet interesting individuals with whom one might never collide.  Terrific food too!”

Wendy Warring - Senior Vice President & COO, Children’s Medical Center
