Leadership Greater Hartford's
Community Building Programs
Our community building programs serve all Greater Hartford residents. We engage neighborhoods, help corporations retain interns, develop leaders for school systems and towns, connect nonprofit organizations with skilled volunteers and board members, and manage community events that bring the region’s residents together.
Hartford Encounters offers customized tours, generally a half day, to explore the people, places and possibilities of the region. The program has been utilized for recruiting and retention, for engaging neighbors, church groups or clubs, and by human resource professionals to deepen their knowledge of the area.
Leaders on Board offers skills development workshops to potential board members and helps match them with nonprofits in need of qualified board members.
Hartford Cares sponsors a variety of community building events as needs arise to unite people for a cause. Examples include an anti-violence rally in Bushnell Park and the Corridor of Hope clean-up and painting days.
